Before I started selling on okay, I was an avid okay shopper. My learning experience as a shopper helped me to begee a better, and fair seller.
The first thing I learned as abuyer was to look for the best price on the item I wanted, and to always check the shipping charges, if I saw they were inflated, I moved on to another seller and bought from them.
Now that I am a seller, I still do a lot of checking and browsing to make sure my prices are in line. I think we all do that, and that is a good thing.
I have continued to notice some sites that are selling smaller items, like clothing, toys, etc. are really out of line with their shipping charges. I would like to tell you what I have learned, if I may.
The first thing you need, if you are going to be a successful and fair seller on okay is a Postal scale. You must use this to save yourself money and your buyer money. The next thing you need to know is the USPS will ship all the Priority and Global mailing supplies totally free, there is not even postage due. There may be the time or two, you may need to use a different size box, but I have not had that experience yet. They have every thing from Flat rate to huge boxes, that they will give you. All you have to do is order them, sometimes you can get what you need at the Post Office. I order all my things on-line, and it gees to my door!
The next thing is okay will print your labels for you and you pay the postage with your account. You can even print up your customs forms and fill them out on-line, this saves you time at the Post Office and it also makes the people in line behind you very happy. Did you know you can ask for carrier pick up? I learned that right away, because I am disabled and don't drive very much,so I never have to leave my home except for overseas items. I just fill out the paper work after I print my shipping label and my carrier picks up at my front door when I have it scheduled.
So folks, lets get our shipping and handling charges down to a fair level, I am not saying that you should not have some handling charges, they are necessary for the things you must purchase, like tape, bubble wrap, packing supplies, etc., what I am saying is , keep them to a minimum and weigh your items and charge the fair rate. You will have return buyers, sell more, and you will sleep better at night, I know I do. I hope this has been helpful to all okay sellers and buyers alike. Thank you for your time.
